A former editor of the Iranian women's magazine Zanan, banned by the state's Press Supervisory Board in 2007. The Program Manager for the Iran program at the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR). Both at Zanan and IWPR, Eftekhari has working on cultivation and promotion of Iranian journalists. A recipient of a fellowship at the Nieman Foundation for Journalist at Harvard.
